CPA Studios is recognised as one of the leading academies for the Performing Arts in the UK today.
Starting from humble beginnings back in 1984, the then ‘Colin’s Stage School’ operated from draughty rented halls; training children with the basic skills for the performing arts industry.
In 1998 Colin’s Performing Arts Limited was formed by Directors Colin Putz (Principal) and Keith Taylor (Finance) and in 1999 they moved the company to its own specially designed studios and administration offices situated on London’s eastern border within the county of Essex.
Currently CPA Studios offers a Part-Time School course and a full time 3 year Musical Theatre Diploma College Course, with an Agency and Management team that offers the students a chance to audition for professional work in Musical Theatre, Television, Commercials, Pantomime, Films and Corporate work.

With a strong belief that the students need to excel in all the artistic disciplines, the Principal, College Artistic Director and Head of School have recruited an outstanding team of choreographers, directors, musical directors and tutors. Their commitment to driving the students towards their own personal potential is proving to be the key to the School and Colleges’ success.
The solid foundation of the Company and the vast experience of its faculty enable it to constantly evolve and develop and therefore students are encouraged to highly develop their skills and professionalism. The teaching methods used combine the very best traditions in all art forms with the most up to date and exciting input from some of today’s performers.
Within the School and the College some of these tutors come fresh from the performance arena and have their ‘finger on the pulse’ of all aspects of the profession.
Training takes place in a relaxed but professionally disciplined environment which encourages dedication, fun and commitment. The college is currently in Application for Membership Status (AMS) with the CDET (Council for Dance Training and Education).
